ELK HOLLOW - YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME Once you enter our Elk Hollow getaway you will want to return. Our two bedroom, two bath, cabin is comfortably and sylishly decorated with all the comforts of home. The wrap-around deck is situated among towering trees, and spectacular mountain views. Elk Hollow is located only a few miles from the Village of Cloudcroft, and Ski Cloudcroft. The cabin sits on several lots allowing you plenty of space to watch the abundant wildlife up close. At dawn and dusk, there is a good chance you'll see elk grazing in the hollow beside, and below our cabin.

ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY Elk Hollow is located in a private community where the roads are maintained year round. Our community has no steep hills, so driving and walking is a pleasure. It is advisable, however, to use a four-wheel drive vehicle or chains during winter months. There is abundant wildlife in the area, especially elk. A variety of birds, and several varieties of hummingbirds make their home in the Southern Rocky Mountains from April thorough mid-September. There is a pond just down the road from the cabin where you can feed the fish. At last count there were about eighteen fish. You will find them hungry for bread, rolls, etc., any time of the day. There is a wonderful walking trail just past the pond. The trail wanders through the Lincoln National Forest for several miles. CLOUDCROFT, NM Just minutes away from our cabin is the Cloudcroft Lodge and golf course. The Lodge offers a great Sunday buffet, and dining there at any time is a pleasure. There is a second golf course, Ponderosa Pines, not far from Cloudcroft, also the Village Tennis Courts and Ice Skating Rink, Triple M SnowPlay, and the Sunspot National Solar Observatory. Ski Cloudcroft offers downhill and cross-county skiing, sledding and tubing. Also available are snowmobile and jeep tours. There are many hiking and biking trails and picnic areas throughout Cloudcroft . Browsing the quaint shops in the Village is a must.

Nearby you will find such activities as Miniature Golf, Two Theaters of the Performing Arts (Spencer Theater and Flinkinger Center), Casinos, an International Buffet at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, Horseracing, Ski Apache, a Dinner Theater, The New Mexico Museum of Space History, Desert Lakes Golf Course, White Sands National Monument, an IMAX Dome Theater, The Alamogordo Zoo, Cinemas, The Toy Train Depot and Museum, and Kid's Kingdom. You may also like to visit, if you have the time, Las Cruces, La Mesilla, El Paso, Carlsbad Caverns, the Valley of Fire, Roswell, and even Mexico. All are within easy reach of Cloudcroft. |
