5/7/06  "Beautiful scenery from the decks as well as from the living and dining rooms.  Wonderful cool breezes and the relaxing sound of the wind chimes.  The beds were the most comfortable of any place we have ever stayed.  The decor and ameneties were amazing!  Usually when we stay somewhere, we find some things were great, while others were not.  Everything about your Elk Hollow cabin is perfectly wonderful.  We saw both large and small elk to the side of the deck our first night.  Our son, Ron, and his special friend, Traci, flew to El Paso, then drove over and spent a couple of nights with us.  They also loved everything about your lovely mountain retreat.  Thank you, Bill and Jeri-Lynn, for letting us share your place.  It was like home to us for a short time.  Thanks for the memories."  The Cedron Family, Granbury, TX

"We certainly enjoyed our stay at Elk Hollow.  Our granddaughter went with us and was really pleased that we saw an elk on Monday morning.  She enjoyed feeding the birds, too.  We all enjoyed eating at Big Daddy's diner and visiting some of the shops on Burro Street.  On Monday, we went to Nogal Canyon for a trail ride with Elite Outfitters.  That was quite enjoyable even though none of us had experience on horseback, or, in this case, mules.  The ride was nice and the guide was very good with Sarah, who is 10 years old and asked about 100 or more questions.  We visited White Sands and Ruidoso and went on a hike on the Trestle Trail.  That was a lot longer than we expected and my husband and I had to stop several times.  Our younger daughter, age 26, was also with us.  She and Sarah had to wait on the old folks (60 & 62) a few times, but we made it and can look back on that as an adventure.  We took many pictures everywhere we went.

10/7 - 10/14  "Thank you - we enjoyed our stay and your place is quite nice and comfortable.  The area is spectacular!  My only suggestion is NOT to leave the hummingbird feeder out.  When we arrived, it was about 1/3 full, and on the second night here, the raccoons had a "sticky" party on the deck - leaving paw prints as evidence!  They had the feeder knocked off the hook.   Rascals!  Thanks again - the birding is quite good!"  THE MORRISSEYS - SPRING, TX (In response to the Morrissey's suggestion:  The hummingbird feeder was left out by mistake.  There were three feeders out during the summer, and two of them were put up for the winter, with the third left up to feed the few still migrating humingbirds that were flying on to Mexico.  We forgot to tell our housekeepers to take it down.)

"Being the owners of a Travel Agency for 15 plus years, we both have a tendency to be more critical than the average bear; however, Elk Hollow ended up being above and beyond what we had anticipated.  It appears we got here just in time to see beautiful snow in abundance, but not have to drive in it, or in sleet!  It was a plus to view the gorgeous mountain slope with snow.  We definately felt right at home with all the comforts.  There is a lot of TLC put into this home and that is why all walks of "people" can walk right into the door and immediately feel all the comforts of home.  The only thing missing for these Texans was a boot puller at the door!  One is in the mail when we get home.  As an added "fun time" to this great anniversary trip, Camille hit a "jackpot" at Billy the Kid Casino.  For you gamblers - go to the Billy the Kid Casino; the other casinos just take your money! 9/7-9/13  "The cabin is wonderful, and beautifully decorated with all the essentials.  The view was great, and we really enjoyed the deck and the birds.  We kept seeing two femal deer and their two bablies each morning, but no elk by the house.  We walked to the pond and fed the fish several times.  We bought some pond fish pellets, and bread.  They really liked that, and it was fun feeding them.  As we were feeding the fish, a herd of elk came down the mountain, and that was really neat!  We drove to el Paso to the Harley shop, went to Ruidoso to do some shopping, gambling, and ate at several places.  We really enjoyed the pastries at the bakery at the MountainTop Mercantile in Cloudcroft.  We walked the trail past the pond and into the forest.  It was a nice walk.  We had a very relaxing week and just hated going back.  We hope to come back again.  Thank you."  THE McTAUGE FAMILY - SAN ANTONIO, TX

"What a wonderful cabin and the location and scenery are fantastic.  Since my husband was in Iraq for our 30th anniversary, we wanted to celebrate our upcoming 31st on Nov. 25th, so hence our trip to your special cabin.  Each night we enjoyed sitting ouut on the awesome deck and grilled our dinners.  The stars were spectacular.  This evening, on our way back from Ruidoso, we saw wild mustangs running down the road, and elk bulls (20-30) of them with huge racks.  Watch out for mule and white tail deer, too.  Thank you for your perfect place and I am sure we will be back."  THE PEARSONS - TEMPLE, TX
